East Carlton Cricket Club

East Carlton Cricket Club is an amateur cricket and community social club nestled in the picturesque Welland Valley located two miles to the West of Corby Town centre in Northamptonshire. The club is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who give freely of their time to help make the club the success it is today. 

Set within the boundaries of the 102 acre East Carlton country park, the club enjoys a unique position and unrivalled setting for a quintessential English village cricket club. 

We currently field two senior teams; our Sunday XI, playing in the Rutland Sunday leagues and a social XI, playing friendly matches against local villages. We are proud hosts of the ECB All Stars and Dynamos cricket programmes for children aged 5 to 11 yrs old. Following a successful playing season in 2023 our Sunday XI has been promoted to the Rutland 2nd Division for the 2024 season. We have a full fixture list with 16 league games to be played this year against teams from across the East Midlands. The club also hosts Bowden Cricket Club matches, with their home Saturday league matches held at East Carlton through the summer. 

The Club is very much at the heart of the East Carlton community, hosting regular events throughout the year that provide opportunities for everybody from the local villages to come together; parties, barbeques, kids sports days and large events to mark special occasions such as the Queen’s jubilee and VE day celebrations. We hold several fundraising events every year and are proud to have helped raise over £11,000 during the 2022/2023 season for various local charities. During the last year we have also held organised events for Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and fireworks night…the list goes on!

In addition to the club’s organised events, we are a popular venue for hire for private events ranging from corporate training days to children’s birthday parties to anniversaries. We are also the local polling station and host various community groups every week.

We have a fully licensed bar and the clubhouse is open every Friday evening throughout the year, staffed entirely by volunteers from the local community
